2. Objectives of the Practice:

Sasurie College of Engineering (SCE) is committed to providing students with a comprehensive educational experience that goes beyond traditional classroom learning. The goal of this practice, titled “Embracing Technological Advances to Bridge Gaps and Achieve Aspirations,” is to empower students by integrating the latest technological advancements into their educational journey. This initiative aims to foster intellectual, emotional, and social growth, enabling students to discover their passions, develop essential life skills, and prepare for future challenges.

3. The Context:

To ensure a well-rounded educational experience, SCE implements a variety of programs designed to keep students abreast of the latest technological developments while enhancing their skills. These programs include the Induction Program, Value Added Courses, Research Methodology Programs, Skill Development and Enhancement Programs, Career Guidance and Counseling, and the Job Hunters Program. These initiatives support students from their first year through graduation, ensuring they are well-prepared for both academic and professional success.

4. The Practice:

(i) Induction Program:

This program is designed for first-year students, focusing on building confidence and resilience. It includes activities such as spoken English, singing, debating, and group discussions, along with periodic yoga and meditation sessions. The program fosters aptitude, logical thinking, and creativity through activities like clay modelling, poetry, and drawing. Motivational lectures, quizzes, and projects challenge students to step out of their comfort zones and develop their problem-solving skills.

(ii) Value Added Course Program:

To bridge the gap between the curriculum and industry demands, SCE offers Value Added Courses (VACs) in partnership with various industries. These courses aim to enhance students’ employability by equipping them with the latest technological knowledge and industry trends.

(iii) Research Methodology Program:

Each department at SCE organizes programs focusing on research methodologies specific to their fields. These programs bridge curriculum gaps and prepare students for industry readiness by promoting research skills and knowledge.

(iv) Skill Development and Enhancement Programs:

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) conducts various programs to enhance students’ soft skills, language proficiency, communication abilities, and technical expertise. These programs aim to address intellectual challenges and build students’ confidence in societal interactions.

(v) Career Guidance and Counselling Program:

The IQAC, along with the Training and Placement Cell, provides regular career guidance sessions to raise awareness about competitive exams and the importance of higher education. Through the Mentor-Mentee system, faculty members offer personalized academic and personal support, guiding students in their academic and career decisions.

(vi) Job Hunters Program:

This program prepares final-year students for successful career entry by offering specialized training in aptitude tests, interview techniques, and other essential skills. It ensures that graduates are well-prepared for the job market and have a strong foundation for their professional lives.
