ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering was established in the year 2001 with a vision to develop competent professionals to meet the global challenges in modern engineering society. At present it offers a 4-year B.E. Electronics and Communication Engineering programme with a sanctioned intake of 120 students, and an M.E Applied Electronics programme with a sanctioned intake of 9 students.
Post graduate of Applied Electronics programme will be
PEO 1: Core Competency: Successful in industry by applying knowledge of Applied Electronics Design Techniques.
PEO 2: Research, Innovation and Entrepreneurship: Able to identify, design and provide innovative solutions to solve real world social problems through research.
PEO 3: Ethics, Human values and Life-long learning: Demonstrate soft skills, professional and ethical values for a successful career through lifelong learning.
PROGRAM OUTCOMES (POs)
At the end of a programme a students will be able to demonstrate ability to
PO 1: Research aptitude: An ability to independently carry out research / investigation and development work to solve practical problems.
PO 2: Technical documentation: An ability to write and present a substantial technical report/document.
PO 3: Technical competence: Students should be able to Demonstrate a degree of mastery over the areas of VLSI Systems, IC fabrication, design, testing, verification and prototype development focusing on applications.
PO 4: Engineering Design: An ability to Identify and apply modern hardware & software tools related to create innovative products/ systems to solve real world problems in VLSI domain.
PO 5: The engineer and society: Apply technical knowledge towards the development of socially relevant products.
PO 6: Environment and sustainability: Apply appropriate managerial and technical skills in the domain of AE design incorporating safety and sustainability to become a successful Professional / entrepreneur through lifelong learning.
PROGRAM SPECIFIC OUTCOMES (PSOs)
At the end of this program, the students will be able to
PSO 1: Apply a systematic approach to solve the problems in the field of Applied Electronics Domain.
PSO 2: Design an ASIC and FPGA based system using modern Electronic Design Automation tools with knowledge, techniques and skills for the benefit of industry and society
The Laboratories are equipped with latest technology in the fields of Electronic Devices and Circuits, Digital Electronics, Linear Integrated Circuits, Microprocessors and Microcontrollers, Digital Signal Processing, Communication System, VLSI, Embedded Systems, Optical & Microwave that offer opportunities on a wide range of hardware and advanced software packages.
The Department has a team of committed faculty members with sound knowledge in the areas of Applied Electronics, Communication systems, VLSI, Embedded Systems, Signal processing and Networking. The Department encompasses professional technical associations such as IEEE, IETE and ISTE chapters which provide students the platform to learn professional and soft skills.v
