Prof. Dr. Kiruba Shankar, distinguished academician, researcher, and strategist with more than 24 years of professional experience, brings a strong blend of academic excellence, administrative leadership, and industry-focused vision. With over 20 years in academia and 4 years in industry, he holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and is a Certified LabVIEW Associate Developer (NI, USA). His expertise spans outcome-based education, institutional development, and advanced technological integration.
He has held significant roles such as Director – Industry Institute Partnership, Professor & Head, Director – Technology Collaboration and Innovation, Chairman – Board of Studies, and AICTE Margadarshak Member. His contributions include NEP 2020–aligned curriculum modernization, accreditation leadership, faculty development initiatives, and the establishment of Centres of Excellence aligned with Industry 4.0, Automation, Smart Manufacturing, and IoT.
A strong advocate of industry–academia collaboration, he has developed partnerships with 350+ industries, initiated 100+ MoUs, strengthened internship opportunities, and supported high-value placements. His strategic initiatives have significantly enhanced institutional visibility, industry trust, and student employability.
In research and innovation, he has secured more than ₹40 lakhs in Research & Development and Event Grants from agencies such as UGC, AICTE, DST-SERB, CSIR, and AERB. He has also played a key role in establishing Centres of Excellence and R&D facilities worth over ₹15 crores, enabling advanced research, multidisciplinary learning, and technology-driven skill development.
He has produced three Ph.D. scholars and guided more than 20 M.E. scholars, contributing to impactful work in mechatronics, industrial automation, IoT-based systems, intelligent controllers, and product development. His academic output includes numerous publications in SCI, Scopus, and IEEE-indexed journals.
With more than 150 invited talks, participation in national and international forums, and service as a reviewer for reputed journals, he continues to influence academic and research communities. His work has earned several recognitions, including national awards for Industry–Academia Partnership and academic contributions.
